Step outside the Goodmanham Arms into the fresh country air and you will find yourself surrounded by reminders from the past. From lanterns to signage and barrels to the local on-site brewery! And with a touch of flair to mark their ownership of the pub, Vito and Abbey have invested in stained glass in the porch to depict the first letters of the respective forenames.
Customers come from far and wide using all modes of transport. Cyclists, motorists, hikers, bikers and pedestrians. Austrians, Australians, Indians - and yes - the odd cowboy! They all have one thing in common - a love of the countryside and a desire to consume great ale and eat home cooked food.
You don't have to venture far, if you are bent on a short walk round the village and perhaps a little beyond, to meet the friendly and smiling locals. Many are our regulars and some have the most interesting of gardens. Probably you'll come across an old threshing machine, perhaps a very old post box - and even an iconic phone box. Old farm impliments will excite your curiosity - and perhaps cause you to flash a lens in their direction.
If you are interested in short local walks or in more serious hiking, we are on the route of the Wolds Way.
